ShEquity Partners (“ShEquity”) is a gender-lens investment firm committed to accelerating Africa’s green transition through gender-smart investing. We back early-growth-stage gender-smart green SME ventures that meet 2X Challenge criteria.
Our definition of “Gender-smart” is businesses founded or co-founded by women; women-led businesses, or businesses with products/services that disproportionally benefit women.
We invest in high-potential, gender-smart businesses that combine commercial viability with scalable climate solutions. Eligible ventures must have at least three years of operations, strong leadership, and a clear path to profitability. We prioritize businesses positioned to pursue environmental certifications, such as carbon credits, to amplify both financial returns and measurable impact.

Our approach is built on two core pillars: developing and de-risking a strong pipeline and investing in high-potential, gender-smart SME ventures.
To build the pipeline, we leverage the ShEquity Technical Assistance (TA) Facility, a dedicated, philanthropy-backed initiative that provides tailored support to de-risk gender-smart, climate-focused SMEs and prepare them for investment.
We invest at the intersection of climate action and gender equity, combining private capital with strategic TA to help SMEs:
