Pauline Koelbl, the Founder of ShEquity, is a visionary impact investor committed to advancing a sustainable and prosperous Africa through gender equity and climate action. With over two decades of experience in sustainable development, innovation, and impact investing, she is a recognized leader in investing at the intersection of gender and climate—a proven catalyst for inclusive, resilient growth in emerging markets.
Through ShEquity, Pauline backs locally led, scalable solutions across key sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, green mobility, the circular economy, and nature-based solutions. Her work bridges the gender financing gap while accelerating Africa’s green transition and generating long-term value for both people and the planet.
Pauline brings a unique combination of global perspective and regional expertise, shaped by her experience living and working across Africa, Europe, and North America. A Fulbright Scholar and Fellow, she holds academic credentials from Harvard Kennedy School, the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, and the University of Arizona’s W.A. Franke Honors College. She also serves on several boards of impact-driven organizations and is a member of Team Transform, advising the German government on its international Transformation Agenda.
